Robbie is from Phoenix, so IHRA isn't a viable option..I'm sure he'd like to race at Firebird Nat's and Div's.
The 2 bbl 302 is okay here during the winter months anyway. I would suggest building it as a good 9" tire car, but then use a low rated EFI combo for Super Stock, where you can use a transbrake. There is a nice one in Div 1 done similarly. Robbie, call or write if you want 602-769-0346 markyac@cox.net

As someone said, the maverick will be tough in stock with the 2bbl which is why we went with Super Stock. We put a clone 289/210/210 motor in Jamie Schoenly's '72 Maverick here in D1 from spare parts lying around from my 289. It's not far under the index yet but it is a cool looking super stocker! I've never really looked into EFI combos, that's an idea..

How about a Maverick with a Boss 302 got GT? A 351 C would be fast but won't clear spring towers and get a good set of headers on it.

No 4 speed available for the Maverick or Comet, 3 speed manual or automatic only. As for Maverick Stockers, Steve Horton from Washington State races a 73 Maverick 302 in R/SA, in fact he was at the Woodburn Oregon LODRS race last weekend. There have been at least 4 different 302 2 barrel Maverick & Comet Stockers in Div. 6 in the past few years.

Ford put a 4 speed transmission in the later model 75-77(?) models, 4th gear was not a 1:1 drive ratio something like .85:1 overdrive, which was the going thing back then. The F100 and F150 had the same setup and those transmissions look like a 4 speed top loader but with different gear ratios. A lot of people are putting that setup in Cruisers and older Muscle cars. I have done 3 or 4. JPT turned me on th them, just getting harder to find good cores.
