A friend of mine had bought the opel and pulled the motor out and slowly stripped it, So it sat out back of his place as a body and rear,no windows in the rain for a year or two. I knew the history of the car as my brother worked with Jim Zane who raced it from 1980 to1996 when he crashed it .Jim also set I think 7 national records in those years. But other than that i dont know a whole lot. Sometimes Issac Zane is on here maybe he can chime in since he used to run the car also. Anyway i always had hotrods but ever since i was a kid wanted a race car so i made a deal with my friend and paid him a little at a time, put it back together and here i am. I still need alot of help as i suck as a driver(damn red lights) lol, but im learning and spending some quality time with my son doing it , so its worth it to me.

Let's not forget Bob Kaiser's Opel GT . The Kaiser & Heffernan Opel won many many races and also a World Championship in 89 !!!

Interestingly, the Opel was pearl white when Jim first got it. That Opal Opel would hve worked then.
You call it what you decide! An early name that didn't make the cut that certainly won't work now is Buzz'n Half Dozen. Of course that was with the 6 cylinder. The "Wind Of Change" name came from Jim running his 69 Camaro Z/28 with the small block, which almost everybody had, to the change to the Opel with the Buick V6. Good Luck!!! Looking good!!!
