Last year I believe when they started this event.
One of the main reasons I liked stock over brackets was no electronics and no buybacks. Brett typed faster. Last edited by novassdude; 05-09-2012 at 05:43 PM. Reason: to slow |

Here we go again....
It's a special event, there are no round by round season championship points being awarded. The buyback formula was to create the funds necessary to justify the $5K guaranteed payout. IHRA probably would have gotten rid of the buybacks if 100+ cars showed up for these races but they dont. People should be happy they have the option of running this event. If you hate buybacks (as do I), then either dont run the event, dont buy back, or better yet let your hatred for buybacks go for one weekend and have fun with it. |

Technically it is not a BUYBACK. It is a RE-ENTRY.
Buyback: Is when a racer with lots of money pays their way to the next round. Re-Entry: Is when an unfortunate racer loses in the first rd, they have the option of paying for a 2nd chance. All the 1st rd Losers that choose to utilize this option came back to the lanes for 1 round of competition. After that rd the Winners only advance to the second rd to race with the first rd winners. Everyone in the second rd will have had to win a rd to get there. Big Difference between a Re-Entry and a Buyback. Chip Johnson |
