It's a tough situation, considering it happened on Sunday, not much time to tear down. They should definitely weigh and check the fuel of the car. Maybe they should seal it up and tear down at the next race?

If you would have beat Patrick you would have had to scale and maybe fuel. Lol
I couldn't help myself. Like Andrew said, it was Sunday. I don't think there was enough staff there to keep the scales and fuel going and have someone go through teardown with you. Now you can open the throttle another 1/8 of an inch. Lol

Charley,
I think that would be standard procedures for most combos getting HP (fuel check, weight and tear down), but you have been apart several times in the last few months, you made 3 qualifying runs, one within a couple hun of 1.20 under and they know you play by the rules ... LOL nice run .... I guess you should have had a better light so you did not have to run it out the back door to catch Pat ..

That is one bad unit, they still know that you weren't going to be light or use some unapproved fuel, we all know you were planning on trying to beat Pat and if you did you would have scaled and fuel checked .. and it wasn't a heads-up ...

I asked this question many years ago after receiving a horse power "adjustment" and was told that the ahfs does not consider fuel, weight etc. It simply states that a combination will receive a hit if it runs fast enough to trigger the system in any way shape or fashion. I beat on this subject for a long time but the horsepower remained.

It's only been a few years ago that any automatic hp hit in d3 would be torn down. I remember Tony Goodman going 1.40 under the old indexes and having to tear down. He didn't pass for something small like a couple of thousandths in cam lift. He didn't get hp. Travis I thought that was still in force. That being said, I can't imagine anyone staying Sunday night to tear that thing down.
