Nice find Charlie, but I'm wondering if this was a real A990 car to start with according to this statement below...anyone here know for sure.

Quote:
This car was originally a "doner" car for an altered WB car built at Branster's shop for Roger Lindamood. The car was originally "given" to Ron Mancini as a body in white roller. Ron didn't do anything with it, he was building his 68 Dart and Hoover decided I could put it to good use. I got the car with a crashed 65 4 door car for $300 from Ron.
I put the car together with all my own stuff. Don't get me wrong, Allot of good people at Chrysler helped me learn real fast what I needed to know to screw a competitive car together and have a shot.

That is Jimmy Johnson from Monroe LA. I think he got it from Bill Gibbs in about 1981-2. Kept it a while then Ron Cheshire had it. Don't know what happened to it after that. It was a
990 car.

The Cheshire Dodge is posted a few pics back (post #188). I took this picture from a website that showed both of them at the track at the same time(I believe).
Maybe there was more than one that wound up in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Absolutly real A990 car! Had all the real goodies and then some, I thought I made that clear, anyway, yes they used to use a complete A990 car as a doner, mostly wireing and trim parts, they left this car very much intacked. All the trick stuff was prety much untouched. Most of the trick A990 parts where too heavy for an A/FX car. Boy seeing that picture sure brought it all back, thanks!

This absolutely beautiful ivory colored A990 Coronet was originally purchased from Mr Norm's Grand Spaulding dealership and remained in the Appleton / Fondulac, WI area until at least the mid 90s. The original owner was crushed to death by this car while he was installing tubular headers on it and it somehow remained virtually untouched and un-modified throughout time. I do not know who owns this car but I witnessed it being properly raced at Great Lakes Dragaway numerous times in the early 90s and it was a staple feature car in the Chrysler Corporate display tent at many of the mid-90s Mopar Nationals events. Definitely a text book referance example of a factory built Super Stocker.
