vacuum advance?

I thought they had a slightly different one - blocked off (no hole) from the factory not just missing a hose

The Mecum auction going on this weekend is the best muscle car auction I've seen. The quality of the cars is outstanding and the high quality cars are bringing good money.

The one on the car is the correct one. There's a little 'nub' where the nipple for the hose would normally be. -Al

Looks like a hole to me (doesn't really matter) - I was just doing what guys use to do to me when I did collector cars - it was worth a laugh

At least we both new it should not have one

I have been told by an expert that the canister on E-bay is not an original, or at least the picture is. The little faint line that is just south (below) of the crimped edge is the key. Originals don't have that and repos do. He told me that most of the alum tags that go around the dist had a red dye/anodize coating that turns pink with age. The Red was put on there to protect the alum band from the aging process. Real nice price for a very nice car.

I remember this thread and saw this car coming to auction. Wonder what it will bring.

The Mecum's Spring Classic Auction is the best musclecar exhibition I have ever attended. It will be held May 15-20, 2012 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in downtown Indianapolis.

I couldn't agree more. I've promoted and attended a whole bunch of musclecar shows in the past but was absolutely floored by Mecum's Indy auction.

I wasn't that interested in the actual auction due to all the BS that goes on but the cars on site were tremendous. There were eight or ten that I'd never seen in person due to the rarity.

Anyone who's into performance cars needs to go to this auction at least once.
