Great thread. Always loved the Behemoth. Saw a wagon at Auburn several years ago for sale. I didn't know enough to evaluate it. Price was Cheap for what it appeared to be with the 2 x 4s.

On a related note has anyone seen any actual cars[Dodge] with the 413-385hp or 413-394hp motors? I suspect they were a "paper only" combo that was never competitive with the Max Wedge. It will be interesting to see some details on the upcoming Mecum auction on the Polara convert pictured in a previous thread.

with 413/385 HP lettered on the front fender. What was it with those 4-door racers back then,,,,,,,,,, Information states that these 1962 Dart Model #440 4-door Hardtops were listed as 'Executive Cars' Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 01-23-2012 at 01:43 PM. |

here is the last e mail conversation i had with bob burkitt "James - Good to hear from you again, I thought you might have lost interest in the car. Good to know that you still have it. Mike is correct, the car originally was called "Shaker II" after our first race car which was a Plymouth called "Shaker". The lettering in the picture is hand-cut vinyl traced from the original artwork on the Plymouth. We started racing the Dodge in stock paint and color for half a season then over the winter we took it apart and brought it up to snuff with some minor bodywork and stripped it for painting. You might recall that it was pearl with a blue top when we sold it to the Moreheads. When we had it it was a 383 inch engine of 343 hp with dual four barrel carburetors. I'm not sure what it has now or if it even has an engine, perhaps you can update me with regard to the driveline. What are your plans for the car? Any pictures of it as it sits today? Bob" |

Question? Did the Orange Crate S/W shown on page 13 become the car raced by
Al Etter/Don Studley? Possibley Joe Schweigert or Chuck Norton know the answer? I do know when they sold their S/W it went to live in Florida, but that was back in the 80's.
