Default Re: Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

Bakersfield and Sacramento both are venues close to So. cal and No. cal but this division (7) is forcing anyone who is serious about division point championship to now go to TOP GUN no choices for your 5 races to claim points just spend the dollars and travel like a professional, well not being a independently wealthy person SUMMIT SERIES racing looks better, or PSCA, or SUPER STREET ASSOC, I,ve raced STOCK ,and SUPER STOCK exclusively for 30 years and this NHRA 7 director is directly dismantling DIVISION 7 year by year no consideration for the hard economic times Allen Rhinehart said it today thanking everyone at Pomona for spending their dollars to watch NHRA RACING (the premier venue undoubtedly) but regionally they screw us everytime we show up. Load in early fees, extra tech card fees, camping fees, leave your rig overnite fees, buy back fees, extra test run fees, I could go on and on, our entree fee allows us 1 or 2 runs period, it use to cover 4 runs. This Director should be ashamed of his disregard for fair and unbaised direction of the racing done here in Division 7. The out of towners just recieved a taste in VEGAS of what we deal with year after year, they were apauled and won't ever come back, the lack of professionalism by him and the way we always loose Qualifying runs, to hot ,to cold, to windy, to late, to close to lunch, lunch break, dinner break, break break break, haven't you all had enough I have! The desire of everyone racing is to try and compete with each other not with a sanctioning body that only wants your money and gives nothing back, and now takes a Divisonal away why ? It can't be from overwork the down time at Division races rival a Doctors appointment and we all now how we wait for that...........JUST MY 2 CENTS...Oh what did you say Mr. Rice It 'll cost me 5 cents?

I don't think all these dates are set in stone. My understanding is that the tracks have most of the say on the dates. Maybe if Nitro Joe could post a schedule (temporary) with the Lucas and big races, and sptnationals, we could have something to work with, division by division, we could effect a change. Worth a shot.

We won Class at the Vegas Nationals, and they didnt have the Wally's or any pictures, etc that we get at most other tracks. Also, they had to hand make the ladder, causing more delay and confusion, as nobody in NHRA at teh track had the right software to automate it. I am still waiting for a call back from Glendora on getting the Wally...

Racing in Las Vegas surely is less fun every year.

Cool Re: Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

I guess the thing to do is await the National Open schedule and see what the opportunities for grade point acquisition are. 10 years ago, we had a points race at Pomona. They have 8 more days they can use there than the two national events use. That should be an option.

How about an IHRA race in Bakersfield?

If they can refuse a divisional race maybe they are not owned by NHRA

Danny Waters - get on it

IHRA must have races closer than 2000 miles to So Cal

IHRA has to quit being an east coast and mid-west association

IHRA give us a choice here on the west coast

Hold the race in conflict with an NHRA race and see if we go to your IHRA race at Bakersfield or some NHRA race hundreds of miles away

This is IHRA's window of opportunity - take it - jump at the chance

:-) peace

Tracks and sponsors will follow the racers. No demand, no change. YOU are in control.

Looks like if you guys truly want another option, now is the time to petition your tracks.

I'm not sure who Danny Waters is, but I can say that with Paul (Jody) Plummer, Brian Sanderson, and my help to increase this years turn out for the Salt Lake City Nitro Jam race, next years event will be a regular national event with spot in the World Finals race going to the winners in all of the sportsman categories!!!

IHRA must have races closer than 2000 miles to So Cal

Not only is the Salt Lake City race closer than that, but even San Antonio, Tx. is closer, and they're going to get that big Summit Sportsman Spectacular next season, and I'll give you (at least), $5,000 reasons you should attend it (per each sportsman class)!!!

IHRA has to quit being an east coast and mid-west association

They are, and Skooter Peaco (Vice President of Race Operations), is willing to talk with you and anyone else interested in hearing what IHRA is trying to bring out west...call him at (419) 663-6666...he's a vp, and I've talked with him just as easily as I have with my racing buds here on this site...you think Glendora's vp would do that? NOT!!!

IHRA give us a choice here on the west coast

Stay tuned to IHRA.com, because as they release their 2012 schedule, those choices will be disclosed for us, but rest assure, Tucson, San Antonio, and Salt Lake City are just the beginning for us westerners!!!

Hold the race in conflict with an NHRA race and see if we go to your IHRA race at Bakersfield or some NHRA race hundreds of miles away

I hope you saw the inserts I placed within your quotes, IHRA is making strides to get out our way, and the news will be released on their website (just like they did last Friday with the announcement of an IHRA Div. 7). Call Skooter if you want to, but keep reading the IHRA.com website, or this site, as either I, Matt Hawk (btw CONGRATS ON YOUR NO-BOX WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WIN, AND THAT $20K IN CASH AND PRIZES MATT!!!), and or Michael Beard, et.al., will be posting something about them here in the near future....HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!!!
