The SNELL 2010 helmets have been available for a year. (2015 helmets are not available)
The M helmets have nothing to do in Auto racing, buy the SA helmets, they are built for your sport.

Some years ago I did a test with a ECE helmet with similar interior as a SNELL M helmet. It took 2 seconds for the interior to catch fire. Within 10 seconds was it totaly destroyed... In S/SS are you mandated to use driving clothes that protects from second degree burns for about 10 seconds, but still allowed to use a helmet that in 2 seconds starts to burn and melt in your face...

Spend a couple extra bucks on a SA2010 helmet, that way its legal regardless of class until 2022.

Buy whatever pays contingency. You may never get a chance to claim it but at least you have supported the companies supporting the sport.

Hey guys it's your head! What's it worth? You should only buy SA Snell rated helmets! As a former Paramedic I have seen many cheap helmets crack, split or completely come apart and kill the wearer! Isn't it worth and extra $100 or so? Ask Ken Etter if he's glad he had a good helmet! Jim

I just got an SA2010 helmet from G-Force for around $260. Fire sucks. Fire melting your helmet to your face gives new meaning to "suck". After the year I've had there was no question for me.

Ken's helmet was pretty useless when the steering column went up under his chin guard, Just sayin.
The tracks I run at have lot's of shutdown area even for a 128 mph car and if it's on fire I have other thing's to worry about. I will be looking for M2010 though.
