I can understand NHRA and ESPN not saying or doing anything about the atrocious coverage given the Sportsman Classes, they already have their money. But what about the sponsor's who shell out big money to advertise their products in this bad economy? Why aren't they mad as hell! What happened to the 20 minutes that was chopped off of today's fiasco? The 15-second clip of the Hemi-Shootout couldn't have made MOPAR too happy! All-in-all a very poor product from ESPN, staying with a format that hasn't changed in years! And this was, we kept being told, "the most important race of the year!!"
BTW - explain to your neighbor, who knows nothing about drag racing, why the car that crossed the finish line first didn't win! Think he knows what a "break out" is? They spent more time interviewing Alexis DeJoria then they did on the "real" sportsman classes! And their next show is the AAA Nationals, NOT Charlotte!! Lew Total disgusted with NHRA drag racing coverage on ESPN! ![]()
