I know the Stock was moved to Super Stock back in 73 and Pure Stock came about at that time. But even the Pure Stock has evolved into what we have as Stock today.. Even when Pure Stock was started there were cheater slicks and cheater cams (yea, I know they were supposed to be stock cams),so it was hardly just like a production car. I have always said that you guys should be complaining about the AHFS instead of the fact that you think the Horsepower ratings are too low. You are trying to compare Horsepower ratings in 2011 verses Horsepower ratings made in the 1960's, not really apples and apples. If NHRA didn't give Ford and Mopar an advantage, no one would build the cars and Stock Eliminator would still be 69 Camaro eliminator with a few off brands thrown in. This just reaffirms my beleif that it is more about the fact that the Gm racers can't outcheat the underrated Fords and Mopars, instead of making it fair for everyone. We we see how this whole thing plays out when GM puts their version in the field.

If the hp ratings were correct there would be no complaints. But, some slow guys would stil be slow.
