Yeah Scott it got beat to death then resurected and beat some more. Some seem to agree with it some (mostly guys in single car classes) hate it. Me I really don't care, the trophy was cool and there was a little money but hardly enough to worry over. just my opinion. Joe

I'm happy the gravy train stayed on the tracks as long as it did!
The handwriting was on the wall but they could have announced the changes before the season began! |

I have been biting my lip for too long on this topic.....................now it is time to get it off my chest. If a racer put as much time and effort into learning how to win it on Sunday, he or she would have much larger trophies and much more prize money. Oh and Sundays decals are worth $300 each, Fridays decal are about $50 each!!!
5 oh's and win lights to ya!! |

I understand the reasoning behind the move, I understand the thoughts of "Learn how to win on Sunday" reasoning. What does not make sense is lumping single cars together and running them off of the NHRA provided index. Most indexes are based off of a mythical horsepower factor. Some are based off of lbs. per c.i. so it is not a true test of a class race. Guys protect their indexes fiercly while some don't care as it does not really affect them. It would seem that IF you were going to lump all the single cars together for a run off they should use their qualifying time as their "dial in number" for the run off as NO ONE ever sand bags those (that is a joke, don't flame that thought) ... Just thinking out loud here.
