Hey Todd-
Hope that you are doing well. Perrone and I were talking about you this past weekend. Very cool old school video. I believe that was Bigg Stuff with the very early "on-car video" in the last scene banging 'em out! Shout out to Bigg still getting it done. |

Hubert Platt and Randy Payne used to run at my home track in N. Georgia in the late 60's and early 70's. Here's a pic a friend, Richard McFalls, took of Randy Payne driving the Torino at my home track.

X 2 but only us old farts remember the good days of hi test leaded pump gas and muscle cars in most every driveway. Its a very different world thanks to tree huggers and the Fed. Govt. sticking their nose in everyones life and business.

How about my old friend Randy Payne in that modified Maverick with a Boss 429?

Boy does that stuff bring back fond memories. My father was part of the Ford Drag Team back then with Al Joniec and Rice& Holman Ford. I used to go to dealers with him and help with " The Going Thing " racer clinics. I remember having a huge clinic at Rice & Holman Ford with Joniec and the 2 car team of Hubert Platt and Randy Payne and the following day we had a Match Race at Atco Dragway pairing Platt & Payne's Mustang and Torino against Norm Fryer's" 007" Biscayne and his new 69 Camaro. To this day I still have boxes of Ford Drag Team decals, patches and all the paperwork we handed out to the racers.
But the best things I still have from then is my father's Ford Drag Team jacket and my 69 428CJ Ram Air Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible.

The new cars would pack the stands too, if they were marketed right. Get the spectators interested in them.
