I love those cars. Just wish they were in the correct classes at the correct hp ratings.

The cars themselves are neat. So is the factory involvement. What people don't like is the major screwing they take because of the completely ludicrous factors they've been assigned. Not to mention that major screwing came with more of the same. There were a lot of other things done to make that screwing happen that most people missed, because they had no idea what was going on behind the scenes, and who we had trying to help us.

This type of screwing has been going on for years in NHRA stock racing.

Yeah, I agree, but this is a serious escalation.

Wade what you must understand is that these guys are suffering from something very similar to spousal abuse syndrome if you offer them help or a way out or an alternative they will often back away and deny that the abuse is actually occurring, sometimes they will even go as far as to justify what their abuser is actually doing to them as is often illustrated by some of the post found on this forum. All you can do is continue to offer them support and maybe one day they will decide to escape their abuser but often times it is too late. James

I think it has a lot to do with which "abuser" is offering the most contingency money.

Jim I agree with you but it's almost like the chicken or the egg, and which comes first. I think if we support IHRA with additional cars maybe the contingency money will come back. i really think IHRA is doing some things to try and make things better for sportsmen racers.

This pretty well sums it up. Those who do not understand what Alan has said are not going to understand ever, that is until they are covered in class by .60 to 1.00 and 10-25 mph by one of these cars. Moderation is good for the sport, annihilation is not. Jim

Until IHRA has a nationwide presence I think the NHRA is safe. Especially with the fuel prices the way they are people are not going to travel past a NHRA race just to get to a IHRA race. When IHRA was in my area I supported them. They left me not the other way around. If they came back I would race with them again. Luckly for me Jeff just got he DP out of one classes I can go to to get away from them.

It's NOT the CARS... it's the FACTORS, dude. I LOVE the new cars, but everyone and their uncle knows these factors are as bogus as an $8 bill..... fix the factors, and the problem goes away.
