What is so "super" about a stock car stomping a "Super Stocker" straight from the factory. Answer the best you can.
I guess the good ole days of "Good Ole Charlie Browns" are OVER. Sad day indeed. Joe Bohannon |

The last time the factories made 'race only' cars, I couldn't afford it, now I can. Sorta like a lot of the guys at Barrett Jackson. But I got both old and new and I like both. The 2009 and 2010DP's are far from finished. You gotta want to do it. How's that?

Joey I think you have factory built and stock mixed up.
Roy Hill’s Car Jerry Hass back hafted chassis, Nascar Eng builder with motor is no were near to how the factory built it. Trans brake Transmission. What is stock about this car? Rock Hass car MPR back hafted chassis, full blown SS motor and a trans brake. Most of the Ford factory built stuff is better then some of the so called ture SS stuff. The cars that are running SS are full blown SS cars (pistons, Rods, CNC heads, Cams, Intakes, cranks) not just stockers running SS. The car I race is a factory built SS ONLY car. It’s not mine or anyone else's fault the factories have tons of tools at their disposal like dynos and test labs. How much money do you think was spent testing parts one these new cars. These cars were just not slapped together by some $8 an hour people. Joey how fast could you make a LS1 GT motor go(in your brother's Corvette) if you had a million dollars just to spend on testing, Along with ten full time people and any tool you needed? These two races above are no different than someone who sends $150,000 plus on a SS/BS Cobalt to run ---1.20 under and beat everyone else in SS/BS. They just decided to run a new mustang or DP instead of a new modified car.

With with your responses I would have to conclude that anything built prior to 2008 can now be classified as a Nostalgia Super Stocker and should report to all goodguys races in the future, lol.

Well, "Goodguys" disbanded the racing element from their shows. Now, it is only a car show. While Dad and I have a couple of street cars that we enjoy cruising in, I am not really interested in going to a car show only event. The old type racing was a fun atmosphere, much more laid back, and the stands were crowded when the event was at Beech Bend. However, if someone wanted to start a Nostalgia Stock/Super Stock association that was fairly local, and allowed small block cars, the series would perk my interest.

LMAO I doubt the V10 Drag Pak will be as fast the first time down the track as it will be on the 100th run down the track I am sure the guys with the "gold" will make them faster than the factory does out of the box :-) peace

Andrew
Bo29 hemi cars are running 8.20's now, and they fit in SS/AA at IHRA events. Roy Hill and Charlie W would be a good race on paper.

Perfect example of cars that have their own class! IHRA should do the same with them.

The only reason they have there own class is because of Mopar not wanting to let GM's and Fords into there shootouts. When the Mopar money is gone they will be back in SS/AA.
