Thanks guy's. Working on a barn find 67 Belvidere. Last time it was raced was back in 72-73 and has sat all this time without turning a tire since then. The car is a jewel. 10" Firestone 500's on 6" Keystones, truck leaf springs, custom laquer paint job, fender well headers, 513's, cast iron 18 spline 833 Liberty with blue fluid, (guessing B&M atf?). He want's to put the car back on the street. Built him a mild low deck 428 hp engine, replaced the 5.13's with 3.55's, with a standard rebuilt 18 spline 833.
Anyway's, I have another customer willing to buy his old transmission and installing it in a 68 Dart. RB wedge putting out 707/686 on pump gas. Think it'll hold up or should I steer him in another direction.

No matter what transmission is picked, if this is to be raced, make sure that the type of clutch is considered also. We sold one of our spare Jerico's to a old timer with a hopped up 56 Chevy. Weighs like 3700 lbs with a 355. He kept breaking T10s. Not a big surprise there with slicks on, but I only agreed to sell him the trans if he bought a nice soft clutch too. Bottom line is that he has a combo that he will likely never break and prior to that, he was snapping parts like crazy. A little extra money up front makes for a lot more fun and saves money down the road.

I wonder if the T10 would have held up with the soft clutch? I busted my share of Super T10 stuff back in the day with the old style clutches.

Sure Jerry. If he does go the 833 route, mine just needs another imput shaft and 2nd gear..(not minor pieces of course)..best to have a spare handy, just in case......if/when it breaks, he could be looking at a good month or two of downtime waiting on parts, machining and labor.....Assuming you are talking about a faceplated/hardened liberty gears treatment on a 833 crash box.
