Re: East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame Reunion
If you did not get to Henderson for the Reunion this past week-end it was huge. I believe that it can now be classed as one of, if not the biggest car events, of it's type on the east coast. Got to see alot of old friends and friends that I have not seen in over 35 years. Mr. Bo Laws I had not seen since we raced in the old days of Modified Production racing. Got to talk with the remaining members of the Ramchargers and the time that I got to talk with Mr. Tom Hoover, the father of the 426 Hemi, yesterday was priceless. Heard on the street yesterday, one of the Hall of Fame inductees has a new super stock hemi car coming out next year and it ain't no new car.
The display of drag race cars went back over 60 years. The replica of the "High and Mighty" car was something to see. There were old drag race cars and racers on the street and there were current drag race cars on display in the parking lot right beside them. Mike, I am sorry that I did not see your post about the Hall of Fame induction on Sunday. Every year, third week in October, the Hall of Fame Induction takes place at the Vance-Granvillle Community College. A lot of the race cars are on display prior to the ceremony beginning at 12:30. Following the ceremony there is a lunch buffet served. The event is usually over by about 3:30 or 4:00 pm.
If the good Lord is willing, we will all be able to make it back together again next year.
