Cool Re: 1963 Mopar Max Wedge Engine - Complete

Thanks for the info on the carbs guys! The 1964 manifold is legal on a '63 as are the 518 '64 heads. ( although they can be cut to 81 cc.) The '63 415hp Engine (low comp.) uses a slightly different piston spec than the '64 per NHRA, however, the High Comp. '63 and '64 pistons are the same. The Engine I'm selling is a legal Low Compression 415hp 1963 Engine. Also, I think you could get away with running '63 carbs on a '64, I don't know why you would, but, given the state of "stock" they'd probably let you go since the carbs are too small ! One more piece of info ....a little birdie told me that the '63 ('63 only) 415hp engine will be 405HP in 2011.

Jim,

Can't you substitute Eldebrock carbs for the originals per NHRA?

The 63 415 HP has been 405 HP in IHRA for a couple of years now. Must run the smaller carb's on the 63's and the larger carb's on the 64's in IHRA. Who knows what kind of *&^@# NHRA allows these days.
