What a great group of guys. I had the pleasure of spending the day with Bill & Roger(?) as they had to tear down the Shelby. Only had to tear into the top end, no pistons. Checked the cam, heads, valves, bore & stroke & carb. All legal.
There were 15 stockers called to the barn. 6 Cobras, two CJ and two DP which had to pull pistons. There was an issue with John Calverts valves, not sure how it turned out. One was measuring oversized. The Hawk & Cook guys are a great bunch of guys. Glad I met them. I was the hired bodyguard for the day. Good luck to the team. Oh, and one of their secrets for success.....they use GM silicone on their intake. lol. |
