I hope this doesn't turn into a "be careful what you wish for" situation. For all the talk in the past I would hate to see "Daddy Warbucks" Bruton Smith wind up with NHRA.
Would it be in our best interest for a Bill Bader takeover?I don't know that much about him, just what I've read here.

The members are the real owners of nhra. In the months or years to come it will be the members responsibility to make the important decisions. Once again, there will be voting class members and non voting class members. The voting class members should include all members with a competition number. An open web site could detail all the issues and voting results. I'm sure there will be lots of polling as well.

I'm hesitant to post this but oh well....
Let's say, after your research is said and done, that the vote turns out to be legal. My next question is this, nobody here seems to remember a vote, and those that do seem to remember voting no. Would it not be possible to bring litigation against NHRA and force them to prove the validity of this supposed 'vote'.

At this point in time it is fair to say that nhra did send out a letter with new bylaws and a ballot in February of 1981. nhra claims that the members voted for the measure. And from that vote nhra executives took complete control of the organization and wiped out the members' rights. This maneuver in 1981 and another one in 2005 have been researched by several serious lawyers and determined to be deeply flawed and illegal. They also say the Bylaws are illegal and subject to the Continuing Violation Doctrine. No need to take them to court. This problem will be examined by more than one agency. So we'll just sit back and wait for the dust to settle. We believe the members rights will eventually be restored.
