Compression ain't got nothing to do with the spark happenin'. (or not.)
The high cylinder pressure you strive for happens a-f-t-e-r the spark lights off the a/f mix. The pressure before TDC (and ignition,) isn't enough to affect a modern system. You gots another problem-o Koop.

Wish I could help - but I just didn't want you to be one of those guys thinking, "the compression is blowing the spark out."

Not that you were one of those guys....just making sure.....you know.
