Well deserved award. We all look up to him.
I remember the super stock final at the Suffolk, VA Div. 2 points race in 1972. Came down to Bobby Warren & Charlie Taylor. Both driving identical '69 Camaro Indy Pace car replicas. The white convertibles with orange stripes. Both 4-speed cars. Both SS/L I believe (maybe J or K) heads up. Sounded like one car going down. Both hit their shift points at exactly the same time. I was at the starting line so I couldn't see how close it was but I'll bet it was real close. Has to rate as the neatest super stock race I've ever seen. You know Buddy Taylor had his act together back then too with son Charlie driving. This was back when Jeff Taylor was only 11 or 12 years old.

I recall back in the early 70s he was the master of the psyche out. Never even raised the hood on his cars or worked on them. Of course that was when the 255/350 was still rated at 255 so he probably didnt need to

It's great to see a homeboy from NC get acknowledged like this. Growing up in the same neck of the woods as Bobby he name was and still is legendary. I am glad to say I met a living legend and he's from the Tar Heel state! Well deserved!

Anyone who would put syrup in someones car at Indy is lower then whale feces and thats on the bottom of the ocean. I hope who ever did it can look back in pride at the lowest moment in his life. What goes around, comes around.

Had the pleasure of knowing and racing against Bobby in the late 70's early 80's at Blaney and the little Darlington track and others. Always a hero of mine and a class act. Congrats Bobby.
