yes,52 easy to see why, none of the present automobiles have character (except the new Challenger,Camaro and Mustang) I know that no kids these days check's out to see when the new models of Honda's are coming out.

I like Lee's comment best.
We grew up in the greatest of times for a car nut. You can't beat that with a stick.

Yes - 55 years old (second childhood)
Ed, As far as a car culture. Here in the midwest, instead of drag cars. It's 4x4's. Alot of people around here like trucks. Another thing, I work with about a half dozen guys that love derby cars? It amazes me how much money they can tie up into something that they'll destroy eventually. Although, some have figured out ways to put "new" bodies on the things! I think another thing. You don't have the visability anymore. When I was a pup, 60's-early 70's. Every gas station, repair garage, body shop, towing service, parts store et al, had some kind of race car, be it drag or stock car setting on the lot. One of our "local legends" owned a Sunoco service station, he used to get his dragster out on Friday or Saturday nite and run it up and down the road. The town cops would come out and raise a ruckus, not much they could do. The city and county paid him to keep their police cars tuned up! I have also seen a new interest with the current crop of Camaro's, Mustang's and Challengers. It is there but has just changed from our day.

Yes, no question about it. With the computerized cars today, it's hard for the average kid to work on their car. Gas was a lot cheaper back in the 60's, the cops didn't care as much, not much for TV's and movies so what else was there to do? Go cruising. I'm 59 by the way.

Yes, 23. I think the fan base for sportsman racing is non existent in the newer generation. Its pretty rare to find a person like myself that can't wait to start racing in stock eliminator.
