These guys are in my hometown, where my Dad still lives. He has an appointment with them next week. I will try to post what he finds out, although our situation may be different - we have a dually pickup with a 48-ft gooseneck with living quarters. According to Indiana BMV, it is an RV and is plated as such. :-)
