No oil down fines, no glue(maybe no good glue), no track prep. Really didn't think they were gonna make that back up outta their pocket did ya?
Hate to say it but NHRA needs to bring back some kind of reasonable fines for the pro's. They didn't have to pay anything to get in, they can afford to pay to keep the track in shape.. benefits them as much as anyone. |

The reason I mentioned Tulsa just recently switched is because a track doesn't necessarily use a particular compound based on the sanctioning body, unless it is specifically at a National event. Even for Divisional races, I'm not so sure that the sanctioning bodies don't just use whatever the track uses on a weekly basis.
I'm curious if there is any effect on the surface to using one brand all year, and then spraying something different on it for 1-2 races. You wouldn't think so, since they're scraping the rubber, but.... -=shrug=- Pageland Dragway in South Carolina is a tiny little track with the best-kept secret. They did a lot of experimenting the last few years with their own homebrew traction compound, and when they hit on it, buddy you could tell! Best 60' times there (with "real" 60' clocks), and the car yanks the wheels higher there than anywhere else. Don't know what they did exactly, but I keep telling them to bottle the stuff and sell it!
