Default New Camaro Z28

Anyone here know for sure that the soon-to-be-arriving new Z28 Camaro will have the Cadillac CTS blower motor? Heard this today from un-official sources, so if you know, let us know....WJ

The new Camaro is going to have a "version" of the CTS-V engine. Specifications of the engine/blower have yet to be released but General Motors is saying this motor will be in the 550-600 horsepower range.

Didn't the new Mopar entry (Challenger) start out very much overweight? WJ

The Z28 is just keeping up with Shelbys GT 500-about the same ponies and weight 3,800-4,000 lbs.-A nice hotrod for the street

So, basically you're saying that no one will bother to turn this car into a stocker or superstocker because they'll not be competetive because of their weight?..... Or am I missing something else here? WJ

I agree with Mike, i don't expect the Camaro to run with the new Cobra.

Wink Re: New Camaro Z28

I went to the LSX Shootout last month at Memphis, and among all the new Camaros (in various states of tune) there were a couple CTS's making runs down the track. The stock one was running 12s and the tweaked one ran 10.80s,, on street tires, and it was trying to kick them loose all the way through the 1/8th mile,,pretty impressive, I thought. I can't wait to see these engines in the new Camaros,, there was one on display from Late Model Speed with the LS9 supercharged Corvette motor in it. There also was a 2010 Camaro from Lingenfelter with a blower mounted on top like the Roush cars, and one with a Procharger kit for DIYers, and other manufacturers as well.
I'd like to see the factory do something with the Camaros on the order of the Cobra Jets,, can't let Ford and Dodge have all the fun,,,,,,,, my 2 cents.

you don't understand what I'm trying to tell you the supercharger and TB are the the problem the super charger will not flow/blow air how ever you want to call it to make 800 hp. I have been envloved in some of tests!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont forget no factory mustang has even got close to the new LS9 corvette which is one of the fastest car's in the world .

P.S. it does carry the correct HP rating .
