If there are an Odd number of cars in class, or if it's a combo ss/s, I think the fastest car under thier index should get the bye no matter when the odd number happens. (provided they are still in.) It cost a lot of money to be the number one qualifier and thus they should be rewarded. If number 1, is out, it should go to number 2, and so on. easy for everyone to understand.

The fastest car should always get the bye! If it rains NHRA doesn't flip coins or look at cards to see who gets the Wally!
