I record the show and fast forward through all garbage...only watch Pro Stock and all they do is dwell on Greg Anderson crying about not being up to par....pissed me off when Mike Edwards trounced him in the final and on the return road is a shot of Greg getting out pouting as usual...Mike should have gotten the camera time...once again ESPN screws it up...Oh and like we wanna see Mike Dunn riding his bicycle down the track...give me a break.

Not to mention the Newly Wed game they have time for that CRAP but can't even show any sportsman
classes?I have friend w/shop next to mine watches all the NHRA TV coverage I'll usaully ask him about
P/S He replies what kind of drag racer am I because I don't watch it I reply they don't show comp,S/S or
stock so it doesn't interest me besides P/S
I won't set through all the other crap just to a little of P/S. I say you lose you don't get to be interviewed
after losing run winner should get the interview.

The bicycle thing only lasted for a few seconds, the "dating game" thing really made me mad Who the hell cares how well these couples know each other. What does it have to do with televising a drag race? They must be copying Nascar with their stupid Gopher stuff, that has completely turned me off watching the cup races, I think they really underestimate the viewers intelligence. Joe

The content of the coverage IF and a big IF it is controlled by ESPN only is produced by a bunch of people who do not have a clue of what they are covering and have absolutely no experience in the racing industry.
They have no clue as to what a race is all about.
NHRA is well known for punishing someone who might have ties to IHRA or makes any negative comments about NHRA in any way. So is it any wonder they only cover the people that they think pays the bills for NHRA? I witnessed the comment Warren Johnson being cut from the speaker system at Pamona last fall about the track and NHRA's operation of the race. I did know someone who was in earshot at the interview and was told what was cut from the speaker system during the interview.
Is it any wonder NHRA is losing it racers and fans.
If they were not the only option to race I would already be gone.
My 2 Cents

The TV coverage is a travesty. When they first began they would show the "lower" class finals, then they split the show into the current format and showed the sportsman finals on the Sportsman (Alcohol) cars but still showed the final runs for the rest of the classes. Now we get the ***** that we saw Sun.

I'd rather see all the sportsman classes and read about the pro's in the National Dragster!

And why is it that we see interviews with Force, even if he loses they talk to him first. If I beat him and they talked to him first I'd be pissed.

I have been an avid drag racer since 1964 but I rarely watch it anymore.

It's a shame.

I think that seeing and talking to "ordinary" racers are much more interesting because of the hardships and determination they overcome and encounter.

What better story than the little guy overcoming and winning a major title.

A million movies have been made with the same topic. Nobody likes to see the rich guy with everything win all the time.

The NHRA Bristol coverage was plain putrid. Who in the hell cares about a spoof of the Newlywed Game, Mike Dunn riding his bike down the track, or more of the Ashley and John Force show. ESPN has NO clue whatsoever. The show is supposed to be about drag racing, not "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous".
