I was shocked to hear the terrible news. My thoughts and prayers go with Hank and Shirley.

What a shock...I am saddened for Hank as I know this hurts deeply. Shirley and I had a nice talk Sunday afternoon as she gave me my Summit and round money checks. I remember her giving us a cookie at payout on occasion, what a special person she was. As a matter of fact, it was partly due to her encouragement that I decided to let Logan run jr. dragster at divisionals this season. You're in our thoughts and prayers Hank.

This is truly sad news, Shirley was always very helpful at all the IHRA races I attended. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Hank and the entire Blankenship family.

Denise and I were stunned to hear this,,,this is so aweful...God broke the mold when he made shirley,,
we had became friends after butting heads in the early 90`s (mine still is sore)

Shirley was a symbol of IHRA, past and present,,,she was helpfull,,kind,,knowledgable sincere ,,,,,and if you got out of line,, she didnt care to brawl either.. she was a fighter........ that was Shirley!!,,, ,,,there never has been anyone as dedicated to drag racing like her and Hank,,,,,,alot dont know this but at one time, she was a heck of a bracket racer too...I know on a couple of occasions, she borrowed a street car of mine and won both races that she entered

I hadnt see her in a few months when we went to farmington,, ,Denise, myself and our new grand daughter hung out with her for a while on friday at the farm...she had grabbed and hugged us and was happy we were going to be able to attend a few races this year,,,

this is truley a sad day

We will certainly mis her......
