Ed F. Jack if you're out there, before you criticise me for entering Englishtown, that and the Dutch are probably the only two races I'll go to this year,in part due to association policies.Normally I have an 8 grading.

No apologies Ed, the economy is causing most of the low car count. NHRA ship will sink if attendance drops or the Pro catogories get smaller. We really have little effect on National meets.

Interesting question though. To keep a few bucks they probably would tell the poor r/u he was a first rd loser and they would pocket the cash.Would it really surprise you if that's what they did? Ed

I don't think I can remember any time in history where there were this few of cars at a National event.Your guess is as good as mine.Maybe they will run a SS/S combo??

I don't know the answer to your question..... 442... I am going to enter SS as close to the cutoff day as I can. (and I am sure that is what you are seeing from many other racers that are not entered yet). Why pay months in advance when you can wait until the last week to enter. Also..... This race is close enough that half of Division 3 would be entered here if it were not for the D3 race at Norwalk the same weekend..... this is two years in a row that NHRA has scheduled these two races on top of each other. Finally...... the car count is definitely down..... but I believe you'll see about 50 in each class whe it is all said and done. Just my guess Tom Sheehan

I just looked at last years final qualifying list for the Bristol 2008 national.
There were only 49 SS'ers and only 46 stockers. People are surely picking where they "want to go" this year.

Ed, I ran Seattle a few years back and there were only 25 or so cars in S/S. Round money was not paid untill the 3rd but the finalists got the posted amount. Remenber they used to have a class "B" race that paid $200 3rd rd losser. I believe that is the payout used for the SportsNational events today.
