I don't quite understand. I was led to believe that NHRA is self-insured. At least it used to be. Jim

Jim,
The insurance I refer to is a $40.00 surcharge that's a part of the entry fee to a national event that covers insurance costs for racers running the Professional categories, and it's been a part of the entry fee for a long time. That's the $40 I'm referring to. I don't race a class car, so I only have second-hand information from a friend of mine who DOES run a class car, but he says that the $40 in question is part and parcel of every entry fee he pays at national events. Is he in error?. Thanks for any information. Bill

They added the 40.00 on in the mid 80's if I remember correct. Dennis
