Its a great idea but with Alcohol and Top Sportsman classes included it looks unlikely that they will finish in one day..........

VMP can also get a little dicy when the sun go's down and the dew settles. .....I've had a few wild rides there in the past after dark.......Tom

600 miles is a long way for a two day race. I wish Div.1 would back to back some Nationals and Divisionals like they do at Phoenix and LasVegas. At Richmond we could all go hang out at Sterling's house for the week. lol

They did the same thing last year but it was not planned that way. It was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday but due to expected rain on Sunday they ran it all on Saturday. I think it's a much better schedule. I really like seeing all the stocker rounds in one day....Not spread out over 3 or 4 days.

2 DAYS IS FINE WITH ME..
Running 2 events back to makes too much sense,
Look what happen at Maple Grove 2 years ago
It was GREAT,Looked like INDY 140+ cars qualifying

James..Maple Grove was 2 races on the same weekend. The Open was Thursday - Friday. The divisional was Sat - Sun. I think Johnny is talking about a divisional one weekend, a National the next. I personally would have zero intentions of staying down in wonderful Petersburg VA for a whole week! It's bad enough that we have Englishtown to Atco to Norwalk to Lebanon on 4 consecutive weekends. As "yo Ken" would say..there could be worse things in life than having too many races to attend.

I wouldn't miss work on friday....I leave after work and drive through the night on friday, race on saturday and sunday... home for sunday/monday morning and not have to miss a days work...a little sleep deprivation never bothered me....I'd rather be dead on my feet at work than not there at all.

I would have to agree with joe in this economy work is more important . Maybe saturday& sunday events would get the car count higher . ?

This is why the East Coast Stock/Super Stock races are so much fun to go to....Dave Ley runs a great race and you don't have to miss work.....NHRA should think about this...the economy is tanking....I'm sure racers that have to work on fridays would like to be at a race for the full event (sat/sun)....some people that have to work on friday might not bother making the trip for a race that's over the day they show up.
