Nice, isn't a stocker basically a POS bracket car, just more expensive? I like stockers and bracket cars and I don't think either looks stupid with one seat.

I'll second that...

However, race cars just don't look right without the second seat.

I actually have 2 seats in my bracket car as my wifes bracket car has only just b/c the inserts pulled out of the bottom of it. Would like to put it back in just to make some room in the garage.

Its always "just one more change". It will make it simple for me......I wont break parts.... I wont do wheel stands, I have an old gas tank. Heads are hard to tech.. Valve jobs dont make a difference ......Cranks cant be seen, Rods are hard to get at to weigh. Take the sum total of Stocker changes over the last 10 years and Wal Ah.... SS cars of the 60s and 70s. The SS cars are now the COMP cars of the 70s.
Unfortunately the Technology of the Racing Industry from Pro levels is being brought to the Stk and SS level more each day so the companies can afford to stay busy, and profitable and the racers are all looking for the "edge" Tech committee just keeps bending and giving in due to the needs for a skilled crew and cost of their employment.

Jack,

Is this why you did not elect to race in T/SA at Belle Rose?

Is your car simply TOO HEAVY?

As I'm sure you know, you had a better chance of getting struck by lightning and winning the Powerball in the same day than beating that Caddy in U/SA.

I think it would be really cool if it was legal to use "space age " materials to get your car down under 2000 pounds and race in A/SA.

That's funny, I'm on the other end of this one. My Nova bracket car only has one seat. My dear wife, whom I met long after I built the old car, thinks it needs a second seat!

On the other hand, I'm cogitating on how to keep the REAR seat in this 79 Firebird, we're building to run in the IHRA crate motor class. I can buy a commercial roll bar but most of those necessitate the removal of the rear seat.
