So, it will end up with inconsistent decisions and neither D.D.'s nor racers need that at all. It is a simple fix as I stated in my novel earlier and back in April. You simply no longer get a Full stage and Starter Go as described in the Q rules when Starter checks track for clear (flips switch to activate tree), and then Drivers control the stage timers. It is now a reality of Starter Go, then staging with no assurance that both cars will fully stage (a failure of either to do so results in a red light DQ a N.T. but surely a qualifying attempt was made. An incomplete pass is the result and simply should receive the 28 second Q pass result. Then none of the rules are in conflict. The entry monies are applied to NHRA purses/expenses, the racer has the ensuing time to fix their entry, and the show goes on. Failure to appear the next round to the lane call the laddered opponent earns the comp bye. Fixing what we know is broke is just smart. Not getting it fixed is just repeated frustration watching it happen repeatedly, and knowing it is leading to stress for all it happens to.
