If you were injured during you time in the military, you can be compensated and treated for those injuries. There are numerous laws covering PTSD, exposure to Agent Orange, exposure to burn pits, exposure to AFFF fire retardant. The list goes on and on, here are the forms that will need to be complete, either on your own or by a service organization i.e., American Legion, VFW and Disabled American Veterans. These organizations have what you want call a "Service Officer" that can sit down with you and assistance you in filing a claim. For a standard filing you will require three forms:
VA form 21-526EZ Disability Claim form VA for 21-0966 Intent to File a Claim for Compensation and/or Pension, or Survivors Pension and/or DIC VA form 21-781 Statement in Support of Claim for Service Connection for PTSD If you intend to file via a Service Organization, you will need to complete the VA Form 21-22 Appointment of Veterans Service Organization as Claimant's Representative. If you need assistance please feel to PM me. Ed Kaatz (Eddies66) Disabled American Veterans Service Officer |
