Here is a good spin on what happened. The Sorenson's are able to borrow a vehicle from another racer and make it to Pomona. Since that team is also from Oregon, I assume a deal was worked out for travel to their home in Woodburn. This is a great example of racers helping racers.
Sorry both of them lost early, but it is win/win for sportsmanship. Safe travels to all on their way home.
