Default Driver Safety

I was working on a race car yesterday and noticed a daylight source in the trunk of the car. Who ever installed the rear fire wall did not do the job according to the safety standards in the NHRA rule book. Where the roll cage went through the package tray using the factory speaker holes, the fire wall was omitted. This would not be a problem until........things get out of control, and then its burn baby burn.

The point of this post is to bring attention to all racers that should be looking at their cars with a very critical eye. A good motto to use during inspection " That will do usually won't "

With Tech reduced there will be fewer skilled eyes looking at our cars pointing out omissions that could affect the rest of our life. Be proactive on safety, your life may depend on it!

Got to get back to work , Indy is only a few days away!
