Re: Lights out 7 SGMP live feed!
In my own opinion, it was some close racing with some pretty cool cars, turbos, blowers, etc. I watched a little bit on and off, I guess because I was bored and no other racing was on besides Daytona. The question is, was it sold out because they wanted to see close racing or because they wanted to see crashes or because the street outlaws were there. We all know PRI was a huge success because they were there and everyone flocked to see the new cars and get autographs.
I must say, one thing that is concerning is the amount of people on the starting line. Listen, I'm all about the fans seeing good, close racing but, at what price. I would love to find out what they did at Lights Out to get that amount of people. Is it location, price ($25.00 per day to enter and a pass of $60.00 for 3 days or more). I was at Atco during the collector incident and I'm friends with the gentlemen who got hit at New England Dragway a few years back with pieces of the motor. Both these guys were way away from the racing surface or so they thought. With almost 150-200 people on the starting line all it takes is a car to get sideways in the burnout, a key component of the car to break and hit someone and Drag Racing will be on the Nightly News not for results but because people were killed for standing on the starting line. It's not the way you want to think and not taking away from a great event but, the two incidents in D-1 happened with a TS & Comp Car. So these guys are drivers that have top of the line safety equipment and something still broke. I just hope down the road were not talking about something like this in the future.
