Default need a Ford Part Number IDed

I have a shifter that has been around the shop for years. Never used and I want to ID it. It has 2 Ford part numbers as well as a patent number. Patent 3994184 says it is an inline shifter that controls transfer case in 4wd vehicle. Has one handle and 2 arms. Controls gear lever selection of H-N-L and the second arm is a Diff Lock. That info came from googling the PatNo. Part numbers are D9TZ-7210-C and D7TA-7E065-DA. One number is stamped into the metal on the shifter body and the other is on a printed tag on the handle. Shifter body has 2 bold holes to mount wherever. Googling the part numbers gets no hits. Trying to decode the numbers comes up with a service part for a light-medium duty truck. D7 D9 is 77 and 79 and somewhere in my search, my notes say bronco but I can't ID for sure. Anyone with parts books from back then that can look this you I would appreciate it. Local ford dealer shows nothing for either numbers.
Thanks
