In my case mine's faceplated , does not have split sliders and as far as I know needs some power "interrupt" at gear changes. I could be wrong............he may be suggesting very low base , playing with c'weight and so on.......but I have no reason to attempt shifting mine clutchless.............I'm that good , really.
You use the clutch to get it out of the gear you're in..to take the load off the flank of the lugs.
It'll usually go into the next set of lugs to come along.
I suppose, if you pull hard enough, it'll come out of the prior gear.

I don't know about that T5 deal either. The last one I had wouldn't even shift over 6 grand,with the clutch!...Not until I slick shifted it.
Even then I wouldn't want to lean on that rail shift deal, without a clutch.
