Default Shift rpm/time...

Okay here it goes. I'm going to shift on time, 3 speed but this applies for 2 speeds as well. Once I figure out how many seconds it takes my car to get to 6000 rpm on and all out pass and I enter that in the box, then I make a pass on the throttle stop it's going to shift before the ideal rpm because the clock is still ticking right?

Should I be trying to get it to shift at 6000 rpm again or will I just be chasing my tail because each change will affect the other? I'm leaning towards, once I set it for an all out pass I just let the shift fall where it wants according to how long the stop is on. Please advise me on the proper method.

Thanks,
Brad
