My recommendation to start out is to buy a complete car. Get one from someone who has actually attended some national and divisional races.
Make arrangements to pick it at the track after you have seen it run the numbers you expect. Buying someones car is way cheaper than starting from scratch and there are some good cars out there at a reasonable price
