Even local racin g is hard to do around here now (Nova Scotia Canada) I live about an hour from the second largest refinerey around, and 3 hours from the largest. Gas is 1.192/liter, which is 4.498 per US gallon for the low grade crap. I work in a garage/gas station, we make between 1-4 cents per liter, government gets 37%, and the remainder the oil company.
As someone on this boards signature says, despite the high cost of living, it remains popular!
