Default Div. 3 Indy Race

I had an odd experience at the recent event at Indy and was wondering if anybody else noticed the same thing. On two of my four runs, I noticed afterwards in the pits that both of my front runners on my Stocker had about 1/2" to 1" wide of gummy rubber (obviously picked-up from the track) all the way around the center of the tread. On one particular run, I was the first pair out after they had just swept and sprayed the track. I tend to think that perhaps NHRA is experimenting with traction compound again, correct? It can't be good results if cars are literally pulling the rubber up as they run down the track.
