We beat every one in town - GTOs with 421s, 409 Chevelles, 400 442s, 426s Dodges and Plymouths you name it. OK I will admit we liked short tracks - like 1000 feet (they never caught on) All except for one '65 Chevelle with a 292 dragster engine in it. My brother got a '66 327/350 hp Chevy II which was a rocket ship (fastest factory street car ever produced in my humble opinion - only weighed 2800 lbs). Maybe that is why I switched. Anyway, after the Army, I was Chevy guy. Won the AHRA PRO GT-3 Championship in 1970 in a financed (Teachers Credit Union) 302 Camaro. Been a Chevy Guy every since. Enough Nostalgia.
I do not have any money - no savings - no property - but I can make payments - I got financing (do not ask how - see a pattern here) - so I am going to do this "old school" - roll the dice and see if I can make this work - my "swan song" so to speak - at least I can leave it to Andy.
I have more guts than most of the limp, lame newbies on here who do not want to see an old broke guy give it one more try.
It is not about wining it is about having fun - I do not make the rules I just play by them
See you soon
:-) peace

Okay, since you are getting a new DP V-10 car maybe we can sway you back from your wayward step into the dark side. I have 16 cars and a pile full of parts: Been collecting and racing them since my graduation present of a 1971 Challenger that my Dad financed for me in 1976. Have a mess of trucks, Daily driver is an all original 98 CC Dak R/T.
Bought a 2009 R/T Challenger to stick in the garage, and my daughter drives a 2010 That we bought her. Point is, I know almost everything of importance that is going on with the Mopar world. I've been around the sport for a long time, and haven't had much time to race all the time. I make it out to most of all the "good local" races. I don't have to post my "real" name on here: Damn, it's the internet. But I have met quite a few members from this site, and honestly, and no hard feelings, I have never met anyone from California (except Sonny Barger) that I can say I honestly liked being around. And just don't "***" sume that just because someone is new to this site, that they haven't been here before, or that he or she doesn't know what's going on. My Dad was racing NHRA long before some of you could crap solid. Just do a good job with the Challenger, we true mopar people expect it. See you at the Sportsman Nats. And I could buy a DP car, I am sure easily, since my entire family are cusomers of a Dodge dealer close by. My point is, they are not "stock" production cars. I guess I'm just an old school purest. Peace. Hell, I'm thinking a 63 Dart Gt...That would piss the gazillion dollar car owners off, to be put on the trailer by that.
