Okay guys, I know that this question probably isn't going to get answered because I'm sure this car is strictly hush, hush. But I was looking at the Indy entry list and the powerplant for the car is listed as a Plymouth 426? I would assume that he would be using a Hemi powerplant here.
So I was just wondering if he's going to be using one of the street hemi's? OR Is he going to use one of the 426 Wedge engines? Sure would appreciate any info if possible. |

Maaybe a 68 Cuda with a 426 wedge or something like that. The numbers work pretty good for that.

Remember GT now can be "any body" with "any motor" as long as it fits the HP/WT of the class and the motor and chassis are in the guide.

Thanks Jeff! Why all the complaints, its just one little 09 Challenger. It hasn't even become a threat yet and people are throwing a fit. Relax, like someone else said, the car will be in the guide very shortly. The Chrysler Corp has been talking to NHRA throughout the entire production process of these cars so we all know that Joey's car will be more than legal for competition. Can't wait to see it in action. I just hope that Mopar can still another class record along with the debut.

I saw some videos of the new Challenger on Youtube, and it comes with a fuel injected 392 Hemi. It ran 11.20's as produced(it comes with 10' Goodyear slicks, and a Dana 60 on leaf springs). Not bad for a production car. I don't know the NHRA rated HP for the 392 engine. This should make a very neat looking SS car, just like the 2005 Mustang.

I'm betting it will be in the book soon also.
Finally..... a fuel injected MOPAR combo. Coming to a strip near you!!!!!!! by the way..... 11.20's in denver equate to mid 10's anywhere else in the country. Tom |
