I?m curious to see if Div1 cares about any of the Div2 racers left in competition.
We have a double points race at Rockingham the same weekend as Cecil.
I hope Div1 takes that in consideration, we Div2 racers supported their race so we shall see.

You should call Steve and tell them your concern. It may factor in when choosing a date. I would think the Dutch would be the other option at that point

Thumbs up Re: "Live From" Virginia Motorsports Park LODRS D1

It was great having Alan announcing at VMP and I even had the opportunity to speak with him for a few minutes in the tower.

The fellow who did double duty announcing and driving his Stocker did a good job too.

Ray Thurston was the announcer, good guy and very knowledgeable on all aspects of racing especially Stock & SS - he's done a few of my Mid Atlantic Super Series events.

No they didn't - got to R2 of Super Stock, a new date hasn't been announced but probably Thursday of Cecil or the Dutch I would assume.

Cecil would be a problem for Division 2 racers. I can't see giving up a double at Rockingham to finish this race. That said, I can't guarantee that I would even go to The Dutch. It was a tough weekend for the NHRA and the track. I'm sure that choosing the make-up date will be a difficult choice too.

No matter what date they choose, it will be a problem for some. I definitely understand the D2 racer conflict. It really sucks that only a couple days before the event, there was 0% chance of rain for the event. Im really not a fan of double divisionals, and the old D1 director said with the car counts we get in D1, and the fact that most of the D1 employees have other jobs, weather really screws these events up when everything has to go flawless to ge able to get it in.

I understand the doubles, but I think at certain places you almost have to do a Wed-Sat double with Sunday as a buffer for weather, yes it sucks for the working men & women but places like VMP you have a 10am curfew on Sunday, so you don't start till 10:30 at the latest then the drive home...luckily the 300 mile drive home was great and no traffic but let's look in D1 the capable tracks that can host a D1 event:

VMP - Could be IHRA in 2026 but if so, we lose one which MIR will mostly take
MIR - Great Track, parking is hit or miss
Numidia - was told by a few sources they only want a double and no opens
Epping - Heard a rumor that the Divisional might be off the schedule in 26...like I said Rumor
Cecil Co.
Leb Valley
Maple Grove
Toronto

So, 7 total tracks that could host a Divisional, bottom line these tracks just don't make the money on Divisionals like they used too so they are shy at wanting to host one unless it's a double because then you can pack the place with 500-600 cars, VMP was kind of shocking but I think you had the Indy Hangover, MG / Charlotte following weekends, kids going back to school, summer vacations over the holiday plus money...thats a big chunk over 4-5 weeks.
