NHRA use to run Stock or SS Class at every national event and would alternate Stock and SS Class from one year to the next at the each events. They also ran both Stock and SS Class at all SportsNationals, Gainsville, Indy, Vegas 1 & 2...and maybe one or two west coast Nationals.

In todays national event climate, shorten schedules and shortage in staff, class is not really suited for the national event stage anymore.

I would agree that at least 2 Class runoff races per division(at divisionals/opens) + Columbus, Belle Rose and Indy would definitely be well received by all STK & SS competitors.

Alan works for IHRA now, the tracks listed he has no control over. I believe he is using our input for the newly structured IHRA in the future

For the people that are saying "hE dOeSnT wOrK fOr NhRa AnYmOrE"... we know lol. We are basing what we know on the only sanctioning body that runs class at all. We are making suggestions on how we would like the current sanctioning body to manage class run-offs and have IHRA mirror our requests. Given we have no idea what divs/nats will look like or consist of with IHRA, we are making suggestions on what we are already familiar with.

Yes.. MJ ,IHRA previously used the specs and horsepower ratings from NHRA... some HP factors may have been different.
I haven't heard if pure stock, crate motor and GT stockers will be back?
pure stock had different HP ratings than the same combo in stock.
crate motor was IHRA's ratings, GT most likely same as the combo is in stock

Alan just my considered opinion, means i thought about it.lol
i think you would have a lot more participation if you seperated the
Fi cars from the carbs. like they did originally. Now i know there will be a lot of pushback from the Fi guys, of course But if we dont preserve the classics
they will eventually be pushed out. i have ideas on how to make it fair if you want to talk. And before youse guys start , i know everyone is not going to agree ,but maybe we can express our opinions without rancor. haha

Now I know why we are destined to fail as a group.
Alan asked one question, we have now given him 37 different opinions on how we should tell him how Stock and Super Stock should be run if IHRA takes it on. I almost caught myself giving my opinion on this post but I know better. I'm sure Alan knows these classes well enough he has his own ideas or has enough people that he has worked with to come up with a plan. I can bet you one thing, if this thread turns into 100+ suggestions, it will be the last time he asks a simple question.

What the hell were we supposed to do? All pm each other until we formed perfect unison, then had one answer? The whole point of the thread was to get opinions and ideas.

True JP and it's likely one of the only times you will get to express your opinion about anything to an official who actually has the power to do something about it so I think giving opinions is a good thing because Alan will take it the right way.

If you look at the question that was asked, it was only how often you would think class should be run - nothing else.
