We had some time off between Pomona and Las Vegas, so we decided to travel to Lancaster, California to interview John Calvert at his manufacturing facility, Calvert Racing.

That was good. John's a likeable guy. The swap meet flamecutter story is cool. I almost became his Canadian branch in the mid 90's through a friend of mine. He was looking to produce CalTracs in Canada for the Canadian market. The late John Heida ran a business making metal products which was well suited for that but he was too busy with the industrial products to take that on and suggested I could do that. But silly me declined. Regrets.... i've had a few....

Very cool. I'd never heard Calvert talk before.
