"Section 10A - Stock Cars"

So what's "Stock" anymore?
Should Copos, DPs and CJs (and Thunderbolts, a-990s) be considered "Stock"? Or should they be in SS.

There should be a rule added that states,"If you haven't done everything allowed within the current rules, you should hush and get out in your shop and work on your racecar."

But the more "liberalized" current rules affect different combos differently.

(This is going off-track in a hurry!)

While not "Active" (I am building a car to go racing again)...

I have always felt the COPO's and other non VIN factory race cars should be in SS or Comp.

They stray too far from what is written in the STOCK rules...
Rear ends, transmissions, etc. etc.

They are neat cars and wouldn't mind owning one, but just think they are not in the spirit of Stock...

Weren't the T-Bolts and A-990s originally in SS or FX?

Also... on another point... I'm not happy where Pro Stock has gone either.

Just my 22 cents (adjust for inflation)

Stock Car Classification rule should be, the OEM must produce 500 Vin # tagged Vehicles, available to the general public a YEAR to qualify to compete in NHRA Stock Eliminator.
Special purpose built, non vin tagged " stock cars" are considered " Super Stock" cars and must compete in Super Stock Eliminator. These cars will race with the same classification and rule requirements, HP and indexes as they currently do in Stock Elininator Eliminator BUT will complete in Super Stock eliminations.
Just need NHRA to put the verbiage in the 2022 rule book.

I've got a little experiment going this Winter. I'll post my findings in the build section in the Spring.

Stock style lifters. No limited travel hydraulics.

Put the valve spring back to where it was a few years ago.
